We offer guests a day trip to the beautiful Askhi Mountains. Before 2026, only a few people were able to make this trip, and it was fraught with great difficulty. A new road allows you to explore this beautiful place in a single day using off-road vehicles.

The Askhi Mountains are located in the alpine zone, at an average altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level. Its highest point is Mount Gadrekili, at 2,519 meters. The mountain range is located on the border of Imereti, Lechkhumi, and Samegrelo.

The road to Askhi passes through the village of Kinchkha and the Okatse Waterfall. The road then passes through dense forest for several kilometers. Here you will drive in the shade of huge, centuries-old beeches, hornbeams, and linden trees.

The alpine zone begins on the southern slope of the Askhi Mountains, covered in a carpet of flowers of incredible hues. The pass is located at an altitude of 2,300 meters.

After crossing the pass, the vast expanse of the massif opens up before you. This expanse is bordered to the west by the Samegrelo region and the Tekhuri River, to the north by the beautiful Svaneti Mountains, and to the east by Tskhenistkali and Lechkhumi, crowned by the fairytale Mount Khvamli.

This place used to be known as a horse paradise. Every summer, horses from the surrounding regions were brought here for summer pastures. Even today, there are many horses here. They often gather together and gallop across these fields at high speed.
